HOW TO DEFINE A CATEGORY?
Menu Path: Data Input | Category Details
This property management system utilizes standard codes within defined categories throughout the system. The codes (and associated descriptions) are normally defined by your system administrator during the initial setup of the system, and seldom need to be amended.
Nikita Software caters for codes to be added within the following categories:
- Air Conditioning
- Credit Controllers
- Portfolio Managers
- Power Supply
- Unit Classification
In order to view the codes and descriptions associated with any of these categories, simply choose a category from the drop-down box at the top of the screen. The displayed grid below will then automatically fill with the relevant details.
This program maintains various codes and associated descriptions, used within the specified categories.
Notes: Categories must be set-up before data capturing begins, as the system will restrict the User to select from the defined codes whenever input for one of the categories is required.Page: 2

All Fields on this screen are explained below:
This mandatory alphanumeric field (i.e. cannot be blank) is used to uniquely identify the various different codes associated with the current category. Be careful when initially assigning the code, because once the code has been used by the system, you will NOT be able to delete it until the record which is using the code is changed to a new one. This code is only available for input when ADDING a new code to a category, where after it is read-only (cannot be modified).
This is a mandatory alphanumeric field (i.e. cannot be left blank) which is used to describe the code within each category. This field will be shown in any associated drop-down combo-boxes sorted on this name, so be wary when deciding on the names for each code.
